...Declares Rival Meeting Null and Void
…Urges Unity as Party Tightens Grip Ahead of Political Battles

The Ogun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), aligned with David Mark, has forcefully reasserted its authority with the successful conduct of its State Executive Congress in Abeokuta.

The congress, held at the party’s State Secretariat, was marked by strong attendance, strict order, and full compliance with constitutional procedures.

Party leaders described the exercise as a clear demonstration of structure, unity, and legitimacy within the Ogun ADC.

The process was chaired by Moshood Salvador, who supervised proceedings in line with the party’s guidelines and electoral framework.

Delegates accredited for the congress turned out in large numbers, participating actively in what observers described as a transparent and credible exercise.

All aspirants were duly screened ahead of the congress, reinforcing the party’s commitment to due process and internal democracy.

At the end of the exercise, Otunba Dr. Femi Soluade was returned unopposed and sworn in as the State Chairman of the party.

His emergence was greeted with applause and seen by loyalists as a consolidation of stability within the party’s structure.

Also elected were Prince Babatunde Adedeji as Deputy State Chairman and Hon. Agbebiyi Olusoji as State Secretary, alongside other members of the State Executive Committee.

The oath of office was administered by the State Legal Adviser, Barrister Femi Aina, in accordance with party rules.

Party officials emphasized that the seamless conduct of the congress underscores the credibility and organizational strength of the ADC in Ogun State.

However, the party did not hold back in addressing a parallel gathering reportedly held at OOPL by a rival group.

The ADC described the meeting as illegal, unconstitutional, and lacking in both legitimacy and procedural compliance.

According to party leaders, the gathering failed to meet basic requirements, including the screening of aspirants and adherence to laid-down guidelines.

Consequently, the party declared the outcome of the rival assembly null, void, and of no effect whatsoever.

Reaffirming its position, the Ogun ADC insisted that there is only one recognized leadership structure in the state.

The party warned against attempts to create confusion or factional division, noting that such moves would not stand.
Despite the firm stance, the leadership extended an olive branch to aggrieved members and stakeholders.

They were urged to sheath their swords and align with the recognized leadership in the overall interest of the party.

The ADC maintained that unity remains critical as the party continues to position itself as a formidable force in Ogun State politics.

Leaders also stressed that strengthening internal cohesion would be key to winning future electoral contests.

The congress, they added, marks a turning point in consolidating the party’s base across all levels in the state.

With renewed leadership in place, the ADC says it is now better positioned to expand its influence and challenge rival political forces.
