A tragic incident has reportedly left one man dead following a violent attack connected to growing tensions surrounding a family accused by members of their community of engaging in same-sex relationships.

According to reports, the incident began on May 13, 2026, after Taiwo Ola Oduntan, born December 4, 2007, was allegedly discovered together with his male partner at Save Heaven Hotel during a private birthday celebration for the partner. News of the incident reportedly spread quickly throughout the surrounding community, leading to anger, public condemnation, and threats against members of the Oduntan family.

Sources claim that shortly after the information became public, hoodlums and angry community members allegedly attacked the family home and physically assaulted several individuals connected to the household. Witnesses reported scenes of chaos as people accused the family of bringing shame and immoral behavior into the community.

During the violence, the husband of Ms. Stella Modupe Fabunmi was reportedly severely beaten and seriously injured. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition for emergency medical treatment.

Sadly, family members confirmed that he later gave up while receiving treatment and was officially pronounced dead on May 17, 2026. His death has left the family devastated and fearful for their safety.

Relatives of the family stated that the household had already faced months of hostility, discrimination, threats, and rejection from some community members, religious groups, and extended family members because two of the children, Taiwo Ola Oduntan and Oyetola Zainab Oduntan, openly identified as bisexual.

The family also alleged that they had previously suffered intimidation, school suspensions involving two children, and violent attacks connected to accusations regarding their identities and lifestyle.

As of the time of this report, community tensions reportedly remain high, while family members continue to express fears for their safety following the death of the victim.
